RhPf Electronics, out of Basel, Switzerland, have revealed their new MOSFET-based overdrive pedal, the Mosferatwo.
The Mosferatwo, originally designed for grungy blues-rock guitarists, is an overdrive pedal that features a 100% unique circuit utilizing two different gain stages to deliver a wide range of drive sounds, from clean boost to the sound of a full-blown tube amp being pushed to the max – all while remaining extremely responsive.
The Mosferatwo features some interesting controls that offer a variety of unique ways to shape your tone:
- Drive knob: controls both gain stages, allowing you to dial in the desired amount of distortion.
- Focus knob: Changes the dynamic feel and frequency response of the drive sound, from bold and bloomy to tight and articulate.
- Heart and Bite Toggle Switches/Knobs: These allow you to boost carefully-selected low and midrange sections of your EQ, further shaping your tone. The small black knobs above them allow you to dial in which frequencies are boosted.
“Its saturated yet articulate tone, dry crunch, and melodic grit have resonated with those chasing anything from jangly garage textures to hypnotic, riff-heavy drive. The pedal now finds itself at home across genres — from vintage blues to modern desert rock and everything in between.”
